I'm Dave Dantu, a South African through and through, businessman, entrepreneur, fly fisherman and, somewhere along the way, a radio presenter! My love affair with music goes back decades. I'm a rock guy at heart, but my musical tastes are pretty broad. Give me great songwriting, a killer guitar riff, a bit of attitude, and a song with a story to tell, and I'm happy. My all-time favourite album? Without a second thought, Rod Stewart's Every Picture Tells a Story. An absolute classic!
My radio journey started quite by accident in 2016. I was invited along to a weekend breakfast rock show at a station called Eden Radio, simply to see how radio worked and what went on behind the scenes. Well, I got a little carried away chatting to the DJ on air! The next thing I knew, the station owners offered me my own radio slot there and then. And that, as they say, was that! I've never really looked back. Some of my happiest radio memories are doing live breakfast broadcasts at biker rallies around the country. Great people, incredible bikes, good music, early mornings, and plenty of rock 'n' roll. What's not to love? Today, I'm bringing that same spirit, enthusiasm, and love of discovering great music to THE RIDE on Rock Radio UK. So, wherever you are in the world, turn it up, join me for the journey, and remember: this isn't just a playlist - it's a RIDE!
